Honoring a Legacy: CCIMs Celebrate Wayne D’Amico’s Lasting Impact

On March 21, friends, family, and commercial real estate colleagues gathered at the Library Studio in Middletown, Connecticut to honor the life and legacy of Wayne D’Amico, CCIM—a beloved figure in both real estate and music. The event, organized by CCIM designees Tom Hill III and Trevor Davis Jr., brought together the community for a meaningful fundraiser supporting Wayne’s family.

Wayne’s influence on the CCIM network was profound. A former President of both the CCIM CT Chapter and the CCIM Institute, he was known for his leadership, mentorship, and unwavering passion for the commercial real estate industry. Several CT CCIM Chapter members attended the event, a testament to the deep connections Wayne nurtured throughout his career.

“Wayne just loved the brotherhood of the CCIM community,” said his widow, Betsy D’Amico. “They’re very loyal.”

The celebration also spotlighted Wayne’s other great passion—music. Fellow CCIMs like Jack Lynch, who performed with Wayne in the CCIM All-Star Band, joined the musical tribute alongside Lynch’s current band, the C-Sides. For many of these professionals, music provides a creative outlet and emotional balance alongside demanding careers in real estate and finance.

Wayne once dreamed of retiring to Nashville to play music full-time, showing just how deeply music moved him. His story reminds us that beyond the boardroom and deal sheets, the CCIM network thrives on connection, creativity, and care—for the profession and each other.
